Job Description

Provides nonexempt, mid-level administrative support to the sourcing function. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing mid-level support for the sourcing function
  • Purchasing of parts, supplies, and services as needed by plant personnel
  • Ensuring proper vendor selection and order quantities, working closely with Corporate and plant maintenance groups
  • Maintaining high ethical standards in all supplier dealings, in compliance with all Lifetouch purchasing internal guidelines
  • Facilitating the processing of "ECN's" (Engineering Change Notices) including the initiation of requests for change, providing relevant and detailed information to support the ECN request, performing follow-up as needed until completion, and communicating the resultant change to affected plant personnel upon ECN completion
  • Ensuring effective transportation/freight coordination
  • Researching substitute parts and alternate vendors online
  • Performing routine performance audits to ensure that all transactions are processing completely and any transaction errors or incomplete transactions are addressed in a timely manner
  • Delivering all production supplies to internal customers on production floor
  • Reporting silver flake data to Corporate monthly
  • Serving as back-up delivery driver for offsite warehouse to ensure materials are delivered to the lab at set delivery times
  • Preparing and coordinating the shipment of outgoing materials in compliance with shipping standards and Lifetouch guidelines
  • Handling all vendor returns and ensuring that proper credit is applied to applicable invoices and department codes
  • Reviewing and submitting invoices to Accounts Payable, as well as resolving any discrepancies
  • Using a forklift and electric pallet jack to unload freight and moving supplies

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned


  • Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Minimum of 2 years'  purchasing or inventory control-related experience
  • Exemplary verbal, written and interpersonal communication/negotiation skills
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in working with various types of computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, with ability to create documents and create, as well as populate, spreadsheets), company software (for inventory control and purchasing), etc.
