Maintenance Technician

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and repair production equipment safely and properly.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and Repair malfunctioning Photo Production Plant Equipment, (digital printing presses, plastic film laminator, magnet laminator and die cutter, rotary die cutting machines, yearbook booklet makers, auto packaging machines, as well as digital photographic and silver halide processing equipment) using supplied electronic test equipment such as digital multimeter, hand and power tools, reference material such as OEM equipment parts and service manuals, and Lifetouch Technicians.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on all Photo Production Equipment as per PM Schedule. (Install bearings and rollers, cutter blades and dies as well as replace worn mechanical parts).
  • Perform Quality Control tasks such as reading processor & photo printer tests and make corrections to program settings or adjustments to equipment as required to meet Lifetouch Photo Production standards.
  • Install new equipment, software upgrades and mechanical improvements as requested by Lifetouch Management.
  • Draw parts & supplies internally from Spare Parts Inventory using Lawson Program guidelines and Maintenance Connection software program. Responsible to keep Spare Parts inventory neat and accurate.
  • Continue developing knowledge and skill with ongoing changes in Digital Photo Production Equipment and Processes as request by Lifetouch Management.
  • Other duties assigned in Production as needed.

Minimum General Requirements:

  • One year experience in comparable field
  • Graduate of 1 year certificate electronics program at Red River College or similar school
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
