Job Description

Provides nonexempt, mid-level administrative and data support to the business partner function.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing payroll for 300-400 seasonal employees for bi-weekly period.

  • Entering of new hires, employee changes and voluntary deductions in the payroll system.

  • Processing of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies.

  • Calculate and process seasonal bonuses.

  • Responsible for all leave of absence processing; must maintain current knowledge of current legal requirements for all federally and state mandated leaves.

  • Provide support for recruiting, on-boarding, including facilitating New Hire Orientation and employee information meetings.

  • Assist with planning and execution of employee events.

  • Provide information and assistance to the HR Manager and Plant Production Staff.

  • Identify process improvements and assist with implementing new procedures to support all areas of the business.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned


  • AA/AS degree and 2 – 5 years Payroll and HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Must have current knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Knowledge of Lawson and/or Kronos a plus.
  • Knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Word. Should be comfortable with computer applications in general.
  • Strong interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Ability to perform in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and changes.
