JOB SUMMARY:

Our Copier Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing non-exempt, entry level support to the production process functions; while understanding the working knowledge of basic copier technology and electronics to include:  paper transfer issues (paper jams), drum quality issues, and fuser area issues. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily repairs of machines.
  • Pinpoint the root cause of machine failure, work through the issues, and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Repair and maintain basic mechanical and electrical components.
  • Understand and use the copier maintenance manual to find solutions to service code errors.
  • Communicate with management when an issue needs to be elevated to a higher level of technician support.
  • Work with Toshiba staff during technical support.
  • Required to work 2nd Shift during peak production (approximately 3 months out of the year).

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    

  • Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned.

 

Education:

  • Two-year technical degree in electronics preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years practical electronic experience.
  • PC skills, MS Word, MS Excel a must.

Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written, verbal communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

The physical requirements described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties and responsibilities. 

  • Able to stand eight to ten hours per day in a diverse work environment.

When performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, reach, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks and assemble/disassemble equipment.   The employee must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
