Job Responsibilities

  • Manages staffing levels to ensure scheduling is adequate to handle business volume.
  • Manages day-to-day performance of direct reports (two or more FTE's). Observes Photographer performance/behavior, identifies issues and opportunities for Photographer performance improvement and development, and conducts performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Conducts regular meetings with direct reports to review Photographer's quality (e.g., posture, facial view, lighting, framing, eye direction, grooming, express, technical aspects, etc.) and customer service skills. This includes grading and reviewing images with Photographers on an ongoing basis and creating quality improvement plans for development.
  • Establishes measurements to evaluate individual and team performance. Employs techniques to build the teamwork required to support business needs.
  • Coordinates and conducts team meetings to provide training, recognition, appreciation, motivation, on-going photographic quality expectations, customer service expectations, and information on new and existing photography programs and equipment.
  • Recruits and hires photography staff. Onboard all staff to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Partners with Territory Manager in creating and managing a photo payroll and expense budget. Will be responsible to monitor and adjust to meet territory and company requirements.
  • Responds to difficult photography situations that arise and provides appropriate guidance to staff. May be responsible for overseeing the coordination of the overall photography experience.
  • Promotes a positive work environment by motivating staff and implementing retention strategies to maintain or improve employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Promotes open communication among staff to ensure everyone is prepared for upcoming jobs.
  • Ensures participation in company photography awards programs
  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory or management experience; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Proven photographer experience
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Full use of dependable, insured automobile
  • Willing to work varied schedule, including early morning
