SUMMARY

  • The individual in this position will be responsible for managing the image color correction, pre-press processes and maintaining the digital asset management library (DAM) for images and files used and created by the Marketing Communications Team. This position works closely with Marketing Communications, Supply Chain, and Print Vendors.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, add and organize new images to the digital asset management system; color correct images and preflight and prepare files for CMYK and RGB color spaces
  • Capture, build, apply, and train on ICC profiles in a digital color workflow
  • Effectively use color-managed RIP software for various output devices
  • Calibrate monitors, proofing devices and digital printers as scheduled
  • Interpret spectral data and integrate into color-managed workflow proofing process
  • Read proofs and press sheets to measure Delta E variances
  • Partner with strategic vendors to stay current with technology, and assess applicability to Lifetouch National School Studios for cost savings, quality improvement and flexibility; compile research as assigned
  • Support in print and digital production design - simple layout print production & digital assets for websites
  • Prepare & execute finished art for print and digital marketing materials
  • Digital file management, including regularly scheduled backups and archives, ensuring database integrity and identifying process improvements and efficiencies

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Manager in ordering hardware and software within approved budgetary guidelines and in processing purchase orders and invoices
  • Prepare, participate, and present appropriate materials at required meetings
  • Assist, support, and collaborate with other team members as part of a strategic team-based work group
  • Other projects and assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • College or vocational degree in related field (i.e., color theory and digital printing) required; additional courses in Mac software and graphics preferred

Experience:

  • Hands-on prepress experience with a digital color workflow using spectrophotometer to build and apply ICC profiles required
  • 5 years minimum years related experience

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding and skills using RIP software necessary
  • Calibration experience of monitors, proofing and printing devices required
  • Computer literacy required
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat, Mac OS and Microsoft Office in a Mac environment.
  • Solid color theory in understanding CMYK, RGB, LAB color spaces required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and other team members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team environment required
  • Must be a creative, proactive and results-focused
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
