Job Description

Job Summary

Performs computer, manual and machine operator tasks to set-up, maintain and operate photo printing equipment, with the highest quality standards as defined by the company Quality System.

Performs tasks associated with processing including, but not limited to, loading and unloading of photo sensitive paper in a darkroom environment, inspecting for processing defects and color shifts, spooling, tagging, and separating rolls as required, loading and unloading paper magazines as required, performing routine maintenance tasks, and filling and maintaining chemistry on all processors.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform and document daily inspection of processor, chemical mix areas, and work area to ensure safe operation.
  • Achieve departmental and individual quality, service, cost, and self development goals.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required and assist Equipment Maintenance Associates with preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform tasks associated with processing including, but not limited to, loading and unloading of photo sensitive paper in a darkroom environment, inspecting for processing defects and color shifts, spooling, tagging, and separating rolls as required, loading and unloading paper magazines as required, and filling and maintaining chemistry on all processors.
  • Coordinate workflow within the department as part of the team effort.
  • Set up and test printing equipment for proper measurement, including calibration set ups.
  • Load and run jobs on printing equipment based upon instructions.
  • Monitor printer settings, levels and readings as required.
  • Clean up, re-stock and organize a neat and orderly work area daily.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist with other portrait production responsibilities as required.
  • Learn and perform other Lab functions and other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

Other (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  •  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8-10 hours).
  • Ability to lift, push or pull (75 lbs.).
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, kneel.
  • Operate computer and keyboard, and view monitors.
  • Stand, bend, twist, stretch and walk for 8-10 hour shift.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (Ex: operate equipment and handle prints).
  • Ability to work and load printer cassettes in darkroom.
