Job Summary

The Storage Administrator’s role is to install, operate, maintain and performance-tune storage platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of data quality, availability, and security. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure storage provisioning, efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles more complex duties within the computer systems administration function 
  • Designs, builds, installs, configures, and supports storage servers and management software
  • Provides analytical support and consultation on projects to ensure appropriate design, implementation, testing, and documentation 
  • Provides operational support for information systems and peripheral equipment
  • Configures, installs, maintains, and upgrades computer system hardware and software
  • Analyzes and streamlines business processes through CASE tools and methods
  • Develops technical system specifications, resources, and processes for complex sub-systems or major system modificationsAdditional Duties and Responsibilities       
  • Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned



  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Hitachi SAN/NAS training preferred



  • 5 to 8 years in specific IT function

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Good oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Hands-on Fiber Channel, iSCSI, SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience
  • Solid skills in UNIX/LINUX and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of change management systems
  • On-call availability for 24/7

When performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, reach, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks and assemble/disassemble equipment.   The employee must be able to frequently lift and move up to 15 pounds (and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds).
